The Intention of My Blog

Welcome, my beloved readers!

In case you're wondering, it's not a typo up there for you see the definition of goodly is:

used as an adjective to describe something
1. of ample or good size, ex: a goodly amount.
2. of a fine appearance, ex: a goodly young man.
3. Archaic. of good quality, ex: a goodly gift.

I am a mother who home educates her children; I would be pleased if you'd look around. You never know if I might have something to your liking. I've blogged about different topics. I hope you enjoy your stay here. May God bless you with peace, a renewing of your mind, and rest as you read my posts.

Please remember to subscribe to my blog, using any variety of methods, which are below to the right, including Facebook.

Thanks to all for your patience as I have been on the mend. I had double heart bypass surgery in February of 2013, and I needed to focus on my recovery, which has been in steady progress. Thanks for your kind consideration.

Thanks for visiting!

God's Word Guides Us Like a Lamp

God's word is a lamp, guiding us throughout life.

105Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

106I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.

107I have suffered much; preserve my life, LORD, according to your word.

108Accept, LORD, the willing praise of my mouth, and teach me your laws.

109 Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget your law.

--Psalm 119:105-109  NIV

God's word, like a lamp, lights the way for those of us needing guidance.  I have often turned to God and the Bible.  There have been times when no one else could have helped me.  I'm talking about the comfort of knowing that everything will be all right.  I'm talking about when I felt so lost.

I can remember the panic sinking in me when I waited for my mother's exploratory surgery.  The agony of the wait was horrendous.  I turned to the Bible I took with me and opened it up to the book of Psalms.  It is there that I received the comfort I needed.  I received a calm feeling when I surrendered myself to His words.

In seeing what my trust lead to, I decided to trust Him with my children, too.  I have been homeschooling my children, with His guidance, for the past 11years.  There have been times when I have been too tired or too sick to go on, but He has kept guiding me and helping me through it all.  In return, I give Him all the praise.  I rightfully acknowledge that He has been there for me all along, while others have forsaken me.

I have often asked Him to teach me about His laws.  He has lead me to specific scripture about a particular problem or situation.  I have been blessed to be loved by a wonderful God.  Yes, there have been times that I have not been obedient to His word, and I have suffered for it.  Still, he has been slow to anger and willing to show mercy.

I am very grateful to have such a good God.

How about you, my readers?  How has God been a lamp in your life?  Has He used His word to reach you?  to counsel you?  to comfort you?  I pray you have a strong relationship with God the Father.

May God bless you with His peace, my beloveds.
