Fluidity game for Wii |
There's something about a game that requires thinking. It fills your mind with thoughts on how to accomplish some goal. That's what I liked when I first saw the Fluidity game for our Wii.
|
Wii control manipulation |
Fluidity allows the player to use water in different forms from ice, to liquid, to cloud. The Wii control is held differently throughout the game. That allows one to navigate the liquid through portals. The player can tilt the water or ice throughout the game. The challenge comes when choosing which form to use within the different "rooms."

Book that opens to challenges |
My son is the one who found this game, and what do you think happened? My husband got hooked on it. Honestly, I have never seen a man so obsessed with such a game. Of course, I don't mind him playing it. I personally think that it is beneficial for him.

Player's glance at different "rooms" |
I truly think that it has helped my hubby develop a strategy for how to create his latest homemade trailer. You see, when one plays certain games, he/she can come away with a fresh pair of eyes to tackle certain problem areas in the home and life. I think this game has functioned the same for my husband.

Powers acquired throughout Fluidity |
If anyone wants their children to learn how to work through strategies, I would recommend this game. After all, if it's good enough for my husband, it's good enough for my children. I think it's wonderful that an entertaining game also teaches skills like how to strategize. It is worth the time it takes to complete the rooms in the Fluidity game. The skill stands to spill over into other areas of our lives.
Well, thanks for viewing this quick blog entry about teaching about strategy with technology using a Wii game called Fluidity.
How about you, my readers? Have you ever used online games to teach about strategy? If so, did your children enjoy learning about strategizing while playing games like those for the Wii? Or did you use other hands on materials? I think virtual games are a practical, economical method to learn about the critical thinking skill of strategies. I believe in finding technological tools to help in the home school; I hope you would consider using technology in your schools, too.
I pray that God gives you all, my beloveds, His wisdom and peace.
